Formul\u00e9e \u00e0 d\u2019acide isophtalique et de n\u00e9opentylglycol, elle permet d&rsquo;obtenir une r\u00e9sine plus r\u00e9active et d&rsquo;une grande rigidit\u00e9 une fois polym\u00e9ris\u00e9e, offrant un excellent comportement face aux exigences propres aux surfaces solides<span data-path-to-node=\"10,4\">. C\u2019est une r\u00e9sine de polyester insatur\u00e9, c&rsquo;est-\u00e0-dire un polym\u00e8re thermodurcissable dont le durcissement est irr\u00e9versible : une fois r\u00e9ticul\u00e9e, elle ne peut pas revenir \u00e0 son \u00e9tat liquide initial.<\/p>\n<p>Elle est obtenue par est\u00e9rification d\u2019acides ou d\u2019anhydrides avec des alcools (glycols) ; on y ajoute ensuite un monom\u00e8re (g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement le styr\u00e8ne) pour ajuster la viscosit\u00e9 et l\u2019application finale.
